Best decision I've ever made, the most rewarding journey I have ever taken. What an amazing experience being supported by an amazing team. My journey started when I realised my relationship with food had to change, nothing was working and I was just struggling with my weight. After researching weight loss surgery I found a video with
Mr Ahmed Hamouda a bariatric surgeon. After watching this video, I decided I wanted to meet Dr Ahmed Hamouda. His Video was informative talked about bariatric surgery.
This personal touch made my Mind up, that I wanted a consultation with him. From the first phone call .I was on the way to my recovery from yo yo dieting and being ashamed of my weight. Not only do you get surgery you also have a year of a support network , dietician,  psychologists. Check up appointments .Just having surgery if not enough.you need support to change your mind set., information and useful advice and constant support.
Not only have I lost weight. ive gained confidence, I am aware of my eating habits and have coping skills in place, to deal with them. I will always need to be mindful and challenge my mind set over food. I've been given the skills to win this battle.
I am extreamly greatful to this wonderful  surgeon who used his training and skill's to keep me safe and to change my life.

I am a 64 year old male. Previous complications having had my large colon removed. I am type 2 diabetic and insulin resistant. Having seen a diabetic medicine consultant and advised that they had exhausted available diabetic medicines it was suggested I have batriatic surgery. NHS referral indicated I was eligible however suggested a waiting list of over 3 yrs. I choose self funding and researched Mr Hamuda who agreed the surgery. I hit a stumbling block with the anaesthetist who wanted better blood sugar levels. It took me over a year to achieve this affecting my mental health. I had surgery in feb 2024 A year on down from 20 stone 11 to 14st 7lb achieving better diabetes control. Phenomenal service throughout my WLS journey - surgery went perfectly I am now 1 year out and have lost 6.5 stone in total so far and still going! Would not hesitate to recommend Mr Hamouda for a gastric bypass the care I received was outstanding he gave me my life back after being overweight for year's I am now at 69 enjoying life .

I cannot express how happy I have been with my surgery. I should have done it years ago. I lost 4.5 stone in 6 months and have maintained for a further 6 months now. As a person of my age (72) I was naturally concerned about having this procedure.
Fortunately I was put in contact with Mr Hamouda who I found to be very precessional & reassuring
Consultation arranged and despite my age I was given the ok to proceed
I was so relieved as my weight was a problem and was effecting my health and everyday life
The procedure was carried out at The Nuffield Hospital Tunbridge Wells and cannot fault the fantastic overall experience
Staff & facilities and especially Mr Hamouda were excellent and caring
It’s been a year now and having been monitored very closely by the consultant, Abir the dietary practitioner, in additional I was monitored by a well being practitioner
This has changed my life totally having lost in the region of 6 stone, no longer on any diabetic medication, no breathing problems and my whole attitude to life has changed
It’s so lovely seeing friends & family and remarking how good you look

My experience of Mr Hamouda and his wonderful team over the last year has been extraordinary. My life has changed following bypass surgery which was with the aim to improve health issues I have had for years. I have felt supported at every stage over the last 15 months since that first contact. Speaking with others who I know have had surgery abroad they haven't had this level of support. To get the best results in terms of nutrition, recovery and to minimise any risks you need this level of follow up. Your health is after all the most important thing. I have been amazed not just by the weight loss in just under 12 months seen in the photo from christmas 2023 (1 month pre surgery) to christmas 2024 (11 months post surgery) but my health overall. I am no longer in pain everyday and able to eat a varied diet after years of restrictions. So grateful to Mr Hamouda for his knowledge and ongoing support. I researched into where to go for the best surgeon for weight loss surgery for a while and came across Mr Hamouda.

From the very start, he listened to me and made me feel heard, going over each and every one of my concerns as well as the best options for me. I opted personally for the mgb and he ran over the procedure and what will happen on the day etc.

The day came and he put all my fears once again to rest and made me feel reassured and comfortable, making sure that everything was okay before going down. It all went to plan and he came to check on me, which again, took his time and was infinitely patient.

The follow-ups were amazing throughout and at no point was I made to feel rushed or that I was a number.

It was truly the best decision I ever made to use Mr Hamouda for the journey and he has helped me regain who I am as a person and have the confidence and energy to live life, and for that I will always be so grateful. If anyone is ever thinking about wls, then I would really recommend Mr Hamouda for the gold star service!
