Obesity Linked to Dementia

Ever-growing waistlines could result in a big increase in the number of people who develop dementia in the future, researchers have warned. Previous studies have shown that being overweight in middle age increases the odds of developing the mental disorder.

Nobody knows fully understands the mechanism behind this observed effect, as such obesity appears to be a risk factor. Further studies will undoubtedly be required.
